A personal document will sync with Kindle devices, Fire tables and the iOS and Android apps. It will not download or sync to the PC or MacOS apps or the cloud (web browser) reader.

When you buy a book from the Amazon Kindle Store, you can transfer it to a Kindle reader or another device that supports the Kindle app, such as an iPhone. All Kindle readers and Kindle apps include a feature called Whispersync, which -- when activated -- marks the furthest page read on any device and syncs that information to your devices. For example, if you download a book or article related to your small business, you can read some of it on your iPhone at work and then pick up where you left off with your Kindle at home.

Make sure both of your devices have a working Internet connection. If either the iPhone or Kindle is offline, it will not be able to send or receive data.

Press the home button on your Kindle. When the home screen loads, your Kindle attempts to sync with the Amazon servers.

Launch the Kindle app on your iPhone. Open the book you want to sync and then tap the circular arrow button in the bottom toolbar to sync the device with the Amazon servers.

Open a Web browser and go to amazon.com/manageyourkindle if your devices are still not syncing properly.

Click on the 'Manage Your Devices' link on the left side of the page.

Click the 'Turn On' link in the Whispersync Device Synchronization section of the page.

How to read Kindle books on a PC using the Kindle PC app

1. Sign into your Amazon account and visit the Kindle app page.

2. Click on „Download for PC & Mac“ and your download will automatically begin.

3. Install the software as you would any program file, then open the Kindle for PC app when successfully installed.

4. Enter your Amazon account information and sign in.

5. Once signed in, your Kindle library will appear. Double click on any title to read the book on your PC.
